2022.01.19 13:09 Marlenawrites My haunted apartment in Finland
This is a haunted apartment story that I don't usually talk about (people don't believe in this, anyway). When I lived in Helsinki, Finland, I found an old apartment in the city centre that had a subtle appeal to me (and attracted me on a psychological level). I love old apartments so choosing this place felt good.
I chose the place because it was cheaper than others and had a secret door on the wall. Yeah.
That door couldn't be opened (they blocked it) and it was facing my bed. So, each night I had to look at it and I'd get the chills (couldn't sleep during the first week) The landlord had no idea what that door was for and couldn't care anyway. (we didn't get along and preferred not to bother him)
Anyway, after I got used to the weird vibe of that place, during one night, the bathroom door started moving. This happened exactly every night at 3 am. It made a noise because of the hinges. I would sometimes be woken up by the noise or would be startled while I was watching a movie.
I told my boyfriend at that time about the door and he dismissed my concerns. He said it must be the way the house was built, that it's normal for that door to move due to the construction (what bullshit).
Later on, a friend came over and spent the night. In the morning she told me that she woke up during the night because she felt that someone was watching us sleeping. I freaked out and didn't know what to do.
Sincerely, each time I was in the apartment during the day, someone was watching me (the feeling was strong and uncomfortable) so I knew that my friend was right.
Thank god I ended up moving out when my landlord decided to increase the rent. I'll never forget that apartment and have learned that if you don't feel 'good' in an apartment, there's probably a reason for it.

2022.01.19 13:09 boundariespushed There's this woman at my job who's absolutely perfect, the sweetest person, yet I can't stand her
I feel really bad about something, even bad writing about it. I feel nasty, wrong, and guilty for feeling this way, but the truth is I do. So, I thought it'd be OK to write about my feelings anonymously on reddit.
Long story short, I work in marketing at a big company and there's this woman "Lisa" in my department, who's probably 5 or 6 years older than me, and is ABSOLUTELY perfect. I mean, I've rarely seen this woman make ONE mistake. She is absolutely a peach to everyone, so pleasant, so sweet & kind, so even-tempered and welcoming. The nicest person! She NEVER messes up. She's married to a pharmacist, just had a baby, everyone and their mother loves her, she's beautiful physically, incredibly smart & articulate, and just a really sweet person. All fantastic things, right? Well, I'm over here a train wreck and can't help but feel annoyed at my jealousy towards her. When I first started I didn't feel this at all (even though my coworker would on occasion make joking/playful comments like "Lisa is SO PERFECT, I'm trying to crack her and figure out if she has any weakness!"), but the more I work here and the more meetings I attend with her, the more jealousy I feel. I hate this because I know it's not right, but I really do feel jealousy. I want to understand why I'm feeling this way and let go of it.
Anyone else? Advice?

2022.01.19 13:09 Sloth143 Return Time?
I returned an item to her USA store, and according to the tracking it was delivered/returned to them yesterday. Since it was returned, I haven't heard from the store yet. I know it's only been a day, but I've never returned anything before, so I'm wondering how long it'll be before they process it or whatever they have to do, and then refund me. Does anyone know from their experience? Thanks!

2022.01.19 13:09 hoosahoe Back on the wagon
I lurk here often to gain the courage to quit again. I’ve gone weeks, months, years sober multiple times throughout my life and I’m back to where the previous dry spells ended. Daily drinking. Constant brain fog, intense anxiety after sobering up the next morning. Crushing depression the rest of the time.
High functioning drunk. Big boy job, stay at home wife, kids, picket fence. You get the picture. I’ve got a lot going for me but always end up back in self destruction mode.
How do you people cope during the dry out phase? I’m actually doing it for me this time. Previous sobriety stints were miserable for me. I really liked drinking to drown out the soul crushing reality of a day job and the endless chaos of married life with kids.
AA never worked for me. I made it through all the steps. What alternatives have help people here? Alcohol has helped me cope with adult life for so many years it feels daunting to find ways to fill that time I spent brain erasing?

Context: The Mercenaries is a bonus mode first originating from Resident Evil 4, where you fought endless waves of enemies while on a time limit. Getting 30,000 points on a stage will unlock a new character. Just don't die, and learn the characters well.

Do you think Boba & Fennec go off-world to recruit muscle? Personally I think there’s a not insignificant chance they fly to Takodana and visit Maz’s Castle to dig up intel/recruit some old colleagues like Bossk and/or Dengar. I also think with Din’s likely involvement, Cobb Vanth could be persuaded to join the cause.

2022.01.19 13:09 maximilianus95 Doubts on the choice of tires for the bike. Is it worth it?
Hi guys, a "beginner" here, I bought a bike, flat bar, 110mm fork, 29x2.125, narrow rim, 3x9, but I also have a mountain bike so I decided to turn it into a Touring for light dirt road and the city (which however is full of potholes), replacing the tires. It never snows here but there are a lot of up and downs and tree roots. I usually take it for medium distances 40-50 km max.
I wanna actually feel the difference compared to the MTB, not being able to buy a gravel.
I would like to ask you, which do you think is the best choice? 700x38, 700x40 or...? Profile? Should i buy a wider one behind? I need smoothness because I struggle to have it with the MTB being also 6'2ft tall 80kg
Give me your experiences

2022.01.19 13:09 HYV2812 What did director wanted to show
I was re-watching season 3 and in second episode, when love kills Natalie and then Joe and Love's argument happened after that,at that time I noticed that Joe drags Natalie's body all the way to the gallary and then puts it into the bag.I was kinda asking myself that why the hell did he drag the body leaving a trail of blood all the way from the storage to the gallary,he could have put it in the bag in the storage. Now he has to clean the blood too😂. He is kind of smart in these situations but he's dumb in this situation.

2022.01.19 13:09 JomaZygoma I (18M) think I have a crush on a girl (18F) I know from university but I'm not sure what I should do.
If it would be of any relevance to you ,keep in mind that I live in Europe. Okay ,so this girl is a part of our university group and I think I'm into her but I really don't know how to ask her out ,where we could possibly go if I did ask her out ,and what we would actually do if she accepted.
Firstly ,she lives half way across the country and travels back and forth between the uni dorms and her home town every weekend during the semester (the bigger part of half the year) ,so I don't even know when she's staying in town and when she is going back home ,hence why I don't know when she would be available. (Which arguably shouldn't be an issue since if she hypothetically wanted to go out with me ,and I did ask her out before hand ,she would stay in town that weekend or whatever so we could meet?). And since I can't really know when she's travelling I want to make sure that if she denies my invitation it isn't because she wasn't in town in the first place but because she genuinely isn't interested in me.
Secondly ,I have no clue where we could go out that wouldn't be cliche or too expensive ,or even to her liking in the first place - a cafe ,a walk? ,what would actually be appropriate (don't suggest the movies please) ,and most importantly ,what would we actually do? Just ,talk? I'd be totally down for that ,I do want to get to know her better but then...
Thirdly ,I have no clue what we could actually talk about. All the time we have ever been together has been with a group of 7 other people with other as-of-the-time more important study-related topics being discussed. Even if she agreed to meet ,I wouldn't know what would be a good discussion topic and if anything we would hardly even have any common interests from what it seems like ,although I could be wrong here.
I'm quite confused about the entire situation and how I should approach it. Currently we are having an exam session and it probably isn't the best time for me to make any moves ,since she has made it clear studying and doing good in uni is of top priority for her. But after the session passes and the second semester comes around I feel like I need to act or I'm going to be too late. (She doesn't have a boyfriend but I'm pretty certain that some of the other guys from our group ,probably from other groups too ,are interested in her as well). I'm trying not to go into this with any unrealistic expectations but I do have my (arguably vague) reasons to think she likes me as well. The uncertainty of it ,however ,is probably hurting me more than it would if she just straight up rejected me since at least I'd be sure that there can't be anything between us.
Should I be straight forward with her or actually invite her out instead ,and how should I go about either option? I'd prefer to do the latter if possible.
TL/DR: I'm really unsure about how I should approach a girl I like - how to ask her out ,where could we go out and what could we do there ,or should I just confess. The main reason is that there are a lot of uncertainties and I'm not bold enough to just go head first into this.
